Application Processes for Degree-Seeking Students
- A completed application form along with two copies of the applicant’s personal composition must be submitted with a $100 non-refundable fee payable to Lakeview College of Nursing. Non-degree seeking students are exempt from paying the application fee.
- The deadline for application for the fall semester is April 1. The deadline for application for the spring semester is October 1. Summer semester start is only possible for students transferring from another nursing program (if necessary courses are offered) and for students who are interested in taking chemistry and/or statistics only on the Danville Campus. The application deadline for the summer semester is April 1.
- If applicant holds a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, he/she may apply for an early decision. Early decision application deadlines are March 1 for fall semester and September 1 for the spring semester.
- Transfer credit may be accepted from any accredited college or university. It is recommended that official (sealed transcripts) be included with the application for admission.
- Two reference forms will be supplied with the application form. The applicant signs each form and requests references from a recent employer or an educator, who is not a relative. The person completing the reference form should place the form in an envelope, seal the envelope, and sign it across the seal. It is recommended that the signed and sealed reference forms be included with the application for admission. References from relatives or personal friends will not be accepted.
- LPNs and RNs applying for admission must also submit a copy of their current Illinois nursing license.
- Applicants will be required to submit an birth certificate with embossed seal.
- Students who were born outside the U.S. will be required to submit official TOEFL scores.
- Upon receiving the Application for Admission, Lakeview College of Nursing will mail instructions and require that each applicant complete a background check form.
- Applicants will receive information concerning a pre-admission assessment once their Application for Admission has been processed.
- All applicants who meet the criteria for admission will be required to take the pre-admission assessment approx. 1-3 weeks prior to the application deadline. Remote testing sites will be identified. If students are unable to take the TEAS prior to the application deadline American College Testing Program (ACT) scores will be accepted until the TEAS test can be completed.
- A completed health record is required to be on file for all students after acceptance into the College.
- Evidence of current CPR certification must be supplied for enrollment in clinical nursing courses.
- All admission records must be complete prior to registration.
- Upon receiving the admissions deposit the Director of Enrollment/Registrar will complete the registration process and enroll the newly admitted student into the appropriate beginning level coursework.
